Tea Well
Teetotalar, noun: a person who never drinks alcohol.
Tea-totalar, noun: a person who totally drinks tea – as in, really enjoys a good cuppa – not one who exclusively drinks tea.
Okay, so I made that second one up, but I still stand by its deservedness of a title and definition. And if you’re not a “tea-totalar”, I put it to you that perhaps you simply haven’t found the blend for you… Or, I guess I could accept that maybe you just don’t enjoy tea. Of course, you’re entitled not to.
Even if you don’t enjoy tea, I am sure that you can appreciate the benefits that tea can offer. Apart from the centering, grounding and generally calming effect of tea making and drinking rituals that bring you mindfully back to the present, there are the numerous types and blends of tea out there that have many more specific benefits of their own.
If you have been to the Be Well Clinic in Grovedale, you will be aware that we are a bunch of tea-totalars (I will resist the urge to create a term for that), who always have a pot of tea ready for you to enjoy. At present, it will be one of three options, each with their own set of benefits. These 100% organic teas have been crafted by their local producers, Tea Thief, with the in-depth knowledge of a Naturopath. I will give a brief outline of these benefits below:
Infini-Tea and Beyond – Hands-down the most popular tea that we have brewed, and a bit of an all-rounder. This blend of offers a gentle ‘pick me up’ thanks to the green tea, whilst nettle leaf helps to cleanse the whole body. Digestive upsets are calmed by spearmint, and licorice root gives a sweet hum that can soothe a sore throat.
Dalai Calma – The ultimate in mind-clearing and nerve-calming goodness – this tea is sure to aid you with slowing down and relaxing. Chamomile is well known for calming the mind, but also works, alongside lemon balm, to calm digestive upsets. Passionflower and lavender assist the calming process, and can help to lull you into a restful sleep.
Vitamin Tea – This tea tastes as good as it smells, and packs a punch in terms of immune support. It owes that refreshing smell to lemon myrtle, which has anti-septic properties to help fight infections. Scratchy throats will be soothed by marshmallow leaf, while echinacea is well known for its immune-boosting quality. Finally, we still have thyme! Great for lung infections, helps to relieve stomach cramps, and has also been traditionally used to support dental health. Plus, this blend is 100% Aussie Grown.
If I have stirred up your curiosity, be sure to enjoy a cup of tea next time you visit us at Be Well in Grovedale. The perfect complement to your Osteopathic, Myotherapy, Psychology, Dietician or Yoga session - they are also available for purchase. Gratefully received as a gift too!
Should you have a request for a particular Tea Thief tea you would like to buy (they do have many more punny tea blends available), don’t hesitate to ask, either in-person, or, if you can’t wait, call us on (03) 5244 0063 or email info@bewellhealthgroup.com – we will endeavour to get it in for you.
